ACT

ACT is American College Testing. It was introduced as a competitor to the SAT in 1959, and the two tests closely mirror each other in their objective and the framework adopted to achieve that objective. NEET-PG, AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER and NIMHANS for the post-graduation

Candidates can opt for MD/MS or a PG Diploma after completing the MBBS. For admissions to MD/MS course aspirants have to qualify some of the above common PG entrance exams. Masters in Medical Sciences and Technology is an upcoming stream for medical graduates.

USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination)

Indian Students with MBBS in India can not practice directly in USA because it is must to have degree in Medicine PG in USA. To apply for medicine PG in USA, student has to clear USMLE at various levels. USMLE has clearly defined levels of medical courses after MBBS that is mandatory to be completed in USA. After MBBS, the above exams needs to be cleared.

PLAB test (UK)

The PLAB test is for doctors who have qualified overseas and wish to practice medicine in the UK under limited registration. The test assesses your ability, as a doctor, to work safely as a senior house officer (SHO) in a UK NHS hospital. Most of the universities ask for PLAB exam and a minimum of 2 years of work-experience excluding the internship period.

Universities also need IELTS score for Language test.

Australian Medical Council AMC Exam.

This exam is to test whether you have the medical knowledge and passing the exam makes you equivalent to an Australian medical graduate. This test is in two parts:

Part 1: Multiple choice questions – This tests your medical knowledge and asks you a range of questions from all medical specialties.

Part 2: After clearing part 1, one will need to do part 2 which is the clinical test. This test is a lot harder and you will need experience before doing this test. The problem is due to the oversupply of international medical graduates you will need to wait on average 18 month from passing AMC part I to undertake AMC part II.
